Natalie Houlton

Associate

Natalie is extremely passionate about facilitating interactive, engaging and discussion-led learning that encourages thoughtfulness, generates ideas, sparks new perspectives, and inspires action.

Natalie started her career in the Telecoms industry in the mid-1990s working in customer service for One-2-One (now EE). Her ability to help, coach and support her team members was noticed and she was quickly promoted to Customer Service Operational Training Deliverer. Over time she developed a strong skillset in learning design and course delivery supporting customer facing colleagues as well as operational leaders.

Keen to test her skills out in other industries Natalie took an opportunity to work for Capita as Learning Consultant working as a strategic partner alongside senior leaders. This gave her valuable experience in leading large-scale projects, such as developing and implementing a bespoke company-wide integrated performance management framework,  designing and delivering ILM Level 5 and Level 7 leadership and management programmes across the business, as well as leading a team of trainers to design, deliver and transfer a 14-week technical training programme offshore to Mumbai, India.

The chance to focus purely on talent and leadership development arose and so Natalie started working for Corus (now Tata Steel) as part of their Centre of Expertise. She partnered with Directors across the business to lead on various succession planning and talent pipeline projects, as well as designing a suite of internal leadership programmes to help leaders to develop and succeed in their roles.

Natalie has been working as an independent Leadership Development Specialist since 2012 working with a variety of organisations, teams, and individuals to help them get ‘unstuck’. She prides herself on balancing highly interactive and energising sessions, with reflective time and space to look at challenges differently, explore new ideas and practices that will unlock desired outcomes and results.
